Katana is one of our special “keeper” girls from the Dueling Sires litter, a unique combination between Copper Tree’s striking brown boy Roka and our beloved foundation female, Pila. This litter proved to be exceptional, producing two champions—including “Rev,” the 2024 Best of Opposite at Westminster—along with agility prospects, sport stars, and beloved companions. What they all share is Pila’s signature stable temperament and eager work ethic, and Katana is no exception.

Katana is a homebody at heart. While she’s a beautiful example of the breed and nearly finished with her championship, her true joy comes from snuggling in laps and chasing toys, not the spotlight of the show ring. Still, we’ll continue to bring her out occasionally to finish her title—on her own terms.

In 2023, Katana had her first litter, and we were thrilled with the promising sport and show prospects she produced. With her sweet nature, structural correctness, and deep roots in our program, she’s stepping into Pila’s pawprints to carry on Menagerie’s legacy of thoughtful preservation breeding—with heart, type, and purpose.
