About Us
Menagerie Mudis & More is a small, preservation-focused breeding program located in the quiet hills of rural southern Indiana. We are passionate about breeding, showing, and training a select number of dogs, with our primary focus on the extraordinary Mudi. Though still an emerging breed in the United States, the Mudi quickly captured our hearts—and we’re proud to be among those helping preserve, promote, and grow this remarkable breed responsibly.
Our goal is to produce sound, healthy, and versatile dogs who excel both in conformation, sport and as active family companions. Every dog we breed is fully health tested, evaluated for structure and temperament, and carefully matched to breeding plans that align with the breed standard and our philosophy of thoughtful, purpose-driven breeding. We aim to maintain medium drive, balanced temperament, correct structure, and strong versatility—hallmarks of a true Mudi.
Our puppies are raised in our home, not in kennels or outbuildings, and they are part of our daily lives from the moment they are born. Raising puppies isn’t just a protocol—it’s a lifestyle. We use a blend of experience, the Puppy Culture program, Avidog principles, and our own tailored practices to shape confident, well-adjusted puppies prepared for a variety of roles. From early neurological stimulation to carefully structured socialization and training, we invest the time, effort, and love it takes to give every puppy the best start possible.
My journey in the dog world began in childhood through 4-H obedience training, and dogs have remained a lifelong passion. After raising my own children, I returned to dog sports with a renewed focus and a deep love for training and competition. My curiosity about breed development and AKC recognition led me to a Mudi Specialty held just two hours from home—and that visit changed everything. I instantly fell in love with the breed’s intelligence, spirit, and agility. That spark quickly grew into a serious commitment to breeding and showcasing Mudis with integrity and care.
Today, the best of our Mudis compete in conformation and participate in a wide variety of dog sports including obedience, rally, barn hunt, scent work, Fast CAT, and dock diving. One of our proudest achievements is Szia, who currently holds the national dock diving distance record for a Mudi at an incredible 26’6″. In addition, Venus has received recognition and placements at the prestigious Westminster Dog Show BOTH times she has competed there. But even more rewarding than titles and ribbons are the success stories of our puppies thriving in loving homes—whether competing in sports, conformation, or simply being the perfect hiking partner and cuddle buddy.
We take pride in matching each puppy to the right home based on careful observations, evaluations, and open conversations with our families. And we don’t disappear after the puppies leave—every Menagerie family becomes part of our extended dog-loving tribe. We provide a lifetime of support and guidance, celebrating every milestone and helping through any challenges that may arise.
